When McCoy Group acquired a new building with an oversized legacy data center, the facility’s scale no longer matched their operational requirements. The company needed to reduce the footprint and cost of the space while maintaining reliability, reusing existing infrastructure where possible, and ensuring the design could scale to support future business needs.
CFT collaborated with the design team to repurpose an existing condenser water loop, feeding water-cooled precision cooling systems within a new two-row server room. The design included a 2N UPS architecture that not only powered the data center racks but also distributed power to all remote IDF locations throughout the building. This eliminated the need for individual rack-mounted UPS systems, reducing complexity and improving reliability.
